Spitfire Visitor Centre has been developed to ensure that the sights, sounds and equipment of the era are brought back to life to give our visitors a valuable insight to the realities of fighting on the Ground, as well as in the Air during the dark years of WW2.

Spitfire Visitor Centre is located at Hangar 42, Blackpool Airport, Lancashire. Constructed in 1939 for the RAF at the outbreak of WW2.

What is there to see

We have three replica Spitfires and a Hawker Hurricane all currently being restored with original parts to a high standard. For a small fee of Just £5 you can sit in the cockpit of our Mark IX “Lucy” and have a number of unique photographs taken to remember your visits.

You can view, sit in and learn about our rare fleet of RAF Airfield vehicles.

On Public Open Days we host informative talks on our exhibits, local wartime history and the realities of life serving in the Royal Aire Force during World War Two
