Spitfire Visitor Centre has been developed to ensure that the sights, sounds and equipment of the era are brought back to life to give our visitors a valuable insight to the realities of fighting on the Ground, as well as in the Air during the dark years of WW2.
Spitfire Visitor Centre is located at Hangar 42, Blackpool Airport, Lancashire. Constructed in 1939 for the RAF at the outbreak of WW2.

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of our replica operations and briefing room.

Experience the sights and sounds of an operational WW2 RAF fighter squadron.

Corporate events, tailored specifically for your company, employee events, away days, presentations and more.
It’s now easy for you to enjoy the flight of a lifetime in a 2 Seat Spitfire from Blackpool Airport.
Take off from Blackpool airport for a Spitfire of the North adventure. See the iconic pleasure beach and piers of Blackpool from the rear seat of our T9 Spitfire.
You can discuss possible routes with your pilot in a pre flight briefing. Perhaps follow the coastine and check out Morecambe Bay or head inland to see the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Our Spitfires have dual controls and as part of the experience you’ll have the opportunity to ‘Fly a Spitfire’ under the guidance of one of our Spitfire pilots.
You can bring along 1 guest to join you on your briefing, before you get ready for your flight. Additional party members are welcome to join you but will be required to pay the entry fees to the Spitfire Visitor Centre on arrival.
Members of your party will be able to watch you get into the Spitfire, then see you taxi out, from our barrier-controlled area, where they will be escorted by a Visitor Centre Volunteer.Whilst you are on your experience flight your guests can look around the Visitor Centre collection and use the WW2 NAAFI Café.
Fly a replica Spitfire MKV. In this full size replica Spitfire MKV you’re not a passenger, you’re the PILOT!
You’re the pilot, so you get to choose. An exhilarating flight over the Swiss Alps? A big city or countryside approach? Or an authentic period dogfight to see if you would have made the grade? Your perspectives will change once you’ve been in this full-size replica/simulator of the legendary Spitfire MKV.
